Heavy Rain Special Edition soundtrack suffers ‘technical delay’ 25 February 2010 at 3:20 pm by admin

Expressing their concerns on the PlayStation forums , several owners of the Euro-exclusive Special Edition of Heavy Rain have been unable to solve one of the game’s most sinister enigmas: “Where is the soundtrack that was supposed to be included with this thing?” Heavy Rain product manager for the region Alex Pavey has provided an answer on PlayStation Blog post, saying, “I’m sorry to say that there has been a last-minute technical delay with the Official Soundtrack, meaning that if you redeem your voucher code before 4th March, you will be able to download Chronicle 1 and the Dynamic Theme, but not the Official Soundtrack.” Should players redeem the voucher after March 4th, they’ll gain access to all three pieces of Special Edition content: a dynamic theme; the first prequel Chronicle; and the game’s orchestral soundtrack (though it’s still unclear what format it will take). If the code has already been redeemed (the theme and DLC are already available for download), Pavel asks that players contact their “local customer service teams,” which should be listed on the packaging. To pick up the phone or send an email, do a semi-circle with the right analog stick, hold R1 and Triangle and tap Circle

+ Peace Walker soundtrack releasing alongside game in Japan By admin 30 December 2009 at 11:00 pm and have No Comments

Despite the similar game setting, the theme song to Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker is not just the theme to MGS3 with the words “Snake Eater” replaced with “Peace Walker.” Maybe then if we listen to the newly-announced soundtrack enough, we’ll stop hearing “I’m still in a dream, peace walkerrrrrrrr” in our heads every time we see a reference to the upcoming PSP spinoff game. The Peace Walker soundtrack disc will be released on Konami Japan’s Konamistyle site on March 17, one day before the game releases, for ¥2,940 (roughly $30). For ¥4,515, you can buy the soundtrack and receive the “Heaven’s Divide” single, the actual vocal theme, on a separate disc.

+ Let Halfbrick’s Blast Off soundtrack occupy your hard drive space By admin 29 December 2009 at 5:45 pm and have No Comments

Even if you have yet to check out Halfbrick ’s gravity-based puzzler Blast Off — and even if you lack the Xbox 360 required to play the Indie Games version or the PSP or PS3 required for the Minis version — you can enjoy the “ambient and introspective” soundtrack (as Halfbrick describes it) right now, because Halfbrick is nice. Fire up the BitTorrent client of your choice, and you can have the Blast-Off soundtrack in either MP3 or Apple Lossless format. We couldn’t be happier with this trend of using free downloadable game soundtracks as promotional tools! As it happens, we often enjoy listening to music

+ Zelda Reorchestrated project completes Ocarina of Time score remake By admin 27 December 2009 at 1:00 pm and have No Comments

On Christmas day six years ago, one boy had a legitimate dream: To recreate the soundtrack for The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time , making it sound like it was recorded by live musicians. Three-fifths of a decade passed, and the boy became a man. More importantly, the Zelda Reorchestrated project produced its first succulent fruits: A 22-track compilation of Ocarina ’s tunes, as performed by a virtual philharmonic

+ French magazine reportedly confirms MJ’s involvement with Sonic 3 soundtrack By admin 03 December 2009 at 1:30 pm and have No Comments

[ OCRemix ] One of the longest running rumors of the video game community is the claim that Michael Jackson contributed to the soundtrack for Sonic the Hedgehog 3 to some degree — a claim bolstered by a number of similarities between the game’s tunes and Jackson’s own body of work. Now, more than 15 years after the game’s release, we might have confirmation that the late King of Pop was responsible for the threequel’s incredibly catchy ditties. According to a forum post on gaming music enthusiast site VGMdb.net , the latest issue of French Michael Jackson fan magazine Black & White contains an interview with composer Brad Buxer, who explains that he and Michael “did compose music for the game.” However, due to the Genesis’ less-than-mindblowing sound quality, Jackson reportedly asked that his name not appear on the game, as he “did not want to be associated with a product that devalued his music.” According to poster’s transcript of the interview, Buxer also confirmed that we weren’t imagining the aforementioned melodic similarities — Jackson and Buxer apparently managed to adapt some of their work on the game for later use in their own music

+ Dream Theater adding even more metal to God of War III soundtrack By admin 14 November 2009 at 10:59 pm and have No Comments

Dream Theater, a heavy metal band best known for creating songs that are impossible to play in Rock Band — and, based on the image above, for serving as the artistic inspiration for Metalocalypse ’s Dethklok — has chosen to lend its potent rock powers to the soundtrack of God of War III . This announcement was made by Theater drummer Mike Portnoy, who mentioned on the band’s blog , “we will then enter the studio right after New Year’s to write and record a brand new instrumental track for inclusion on the upcoming Gods [ sic ] Of War 3 soundtrack.” Between the inclusion of this track and the exclusive Trivium song (which was announced late last month ), we appreciate the metallic infusion Sony’s trying to introduce to the title. However, if it doesn’t culminate in an unlockable electric guitar weapon, then you can expect us to be stricken with grief for a few months after the game’s release.
