Outside of confirming the phone’s existence and predicting pre-orders this month, T-Mobile hasn’t put out its own official price tag and launch date for the G2 yet, but that’s apparently not stopping Best Buy from publishing its own version of upcoming events. Best Buy and Best Buy Mobile are accepting pre-orders for the phone as of today, and will launch the device in stores on October 6th for $199 with a two year contract. That doesn’t rule out a higher price or some rebate shenanigans from T-Mobile’s own retailing efforts (though $199 is the rumored official pricetag ), but it’s comforting to know that this phone, the great gray / white / black hope for QWERTY sliders running stock Android, will retail for the industry standard $199 at least somewhere.

In what can only be described as a triumph of understatement, PlayStation boss Kaz Hirai has admitted to MCV that the $250 pricing could “perhaps” be blamed for the PSP Go ’s unimpressive sales thus far. “I think we need to make sure we have as many titles available to download as possible, to make the experience as easy as possible. But also pricing is perhaps an issue.

Microsoft has chosen the small hours of the night to announce pricing of its second Kinect bundle , which is set for launch along with the standalone and 4GB options on November 4 in the USA and November 10 across Europe. The new package throws in the 250GB slim version of the Xbox 360 to accompany the newfangled motion tracker and a copy of the utterly unmissable Kinect Adventures! (it has its own punctuation, it must be good). Pricing is a bit on the painful side, with Kotaku reporting a $399 figure for the US and Microsoft confirming to us a £300 sticker for this “special edition” bundle for the UK

Well, what do we have here? While visiting lovely and scenic Redmond, WA to spend some time (about two hours, to be exact) with Fable 3 , we accepted an invitation to swing by one of the Xbox buildings and check out the new (and, yes, improved) Xbox 360 wireless controller with transforming D-pad . We not only played with a final prototype controller, but also got a first look at the retail packaging, lenticular image and all.

Poor ol’ Hideo Kojima has apparently been on the receiving end of a plethora of demands from his rabid fanbase, all crying out for the integration of some of the PS3’s patched-in features into Metal Gear Solid 4 . The idiosyncratic developer took time out of his busy schedule of eating bizarre-looking foodstuffs to respond by saying , “I wanted to make a ‘Complete Version’ with trophy support and 3D, but if I did that I wouldn’t be able to work on a new game
