High Voltage Software experimented with support for the MotionPlus peripheral in The Conduit, but omitted it from the final game. Sega announced today that the sequel will allow players to augment the game’s controls with the underused gyroscope peripheral. According to the announcement, in addition to general response improvements, the MotionPlus will improve “edge tracking and transitions to pointer control” — which sounds like it should make the experience of accidentally pointing off screen while turning somewhat less infuriating.

Square Enix released its E3 trailer for the new DS RPG Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light , the back-to-basics Final Fantasy game developed by Matrix Software. Even with all the gameplay footage sequestered inside a tiny window in the middle of the video, the game’s cute character designs and striking color scheme come through.
